The latest federal stimulus funds may be used for any purpose that supports in-person instruction, including improving ventilation and the safety of indoor or outdoor learning spaces. According to [Congress.gov](https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/1319/text#toc-H5D3FAC1F998C4EC7A40432C7FC69B2E0), this includes any projects which would aide in the “inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, replacement, and upgrade projects to improve the indoor air quality in school facilities, including mechanical and non-mechanical heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, filtering, purification and other air cleaning, fans, control systems, and window and door repair and replacement.” As a condition of receiving stimulus grant funds, schools will be required to complete a [COVID-19 School Safety Plan](https://www.schoolsafety.gov/covid-19-resources-schools) in compliance with their state’s Department of Public Health and Occupational Health safety requirements.
