Veris Can Help Make the Most of Federal Stimulus Funding for K-12 Air Quality Improvements
The American Rescue Plan allocates HVAC funding to help K-12 schools reopen safely
What does the American Rescue Plan mean for you?
The latest federal stimulus funds may be used for any purpose that supports in-person instruction, including improving ventilation and the safety of indoor or outdoor learning spaces.
According to Congress.gov, this includes any projects which would aide in the “inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, replacement, and upgrade projects to improve the indoor air quality in school facilities, including mechanical and non-mechanical heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, filtering, purification and other air cleaning, fans, control systems, and window and door repair and replacement.”
As a condition of receiving stimulus grant funds, schools will be required to complete a COVID-19 School Safety Plan in compliance with their state’s Department of Public Health and Occupational Health safety requirements. Additionally, they will be required to adopt and implement a plan for COVID-19 surveillance testing for staff and students that aligns with their state’s public health guidance.

The versatile CW2 line would be our first recommendation for air quality improvement with your federal K-12 stimulus funding.
The CW2 Series of air quality sensors is a flexible multi-sensor platform for use with BAS controllers designed to accept 4 to 20mA, 0 to 5Vdc or 0 to 10Vdc outputs, BACnet MSTP or Modbus RTU. CW2 Series sensors are available with three user interface options: touchscreen, LCD with three buttons, and blank. CO2 and temperature sensors are included with all CW2 Series air quality sensors. Models with VOC sensors and relative humidity sensors are also available.
Recommended CO2 Sensors for K-12 Schools:
The TW2 Series of temperature sensors is a versatile sensor platform for use with BAS controllers designed to accept 4 to 20mA, 0 to 5Vdc or 0 to 10Vdc outputs, BACnet MSTP or Modbus RTU. TW2 Series sensors are available with three user interface options: touchscreen, LCD with three buttons and blank.
Recommended Temperature Sensors for K-12 Schools:
The HW2 Series of humidity sensors is a flexible multisensor platform for use with BAS controllers designed to accept 4 to 20mA, 0 to 5Vdc or 0 to 10Vdc outputs, BACnet MSTP or Modbus RTU. HW2 Series sensors are available with three user interface options: touchscreen, LCD with three buttons and blank. Humidity and temperature sensors are included with all HW2 Series sensors.
